I came out to my Mum last night. Even though she has Lesbian friends and is cool with this kind of stuff, I still think it shocked her a bit. I know that what has happened to me in the past, to do with men, was/ is not as extreme as other peoples experience. But I still think that all of it has just added up. And last night was the final straw. It just took one thing to tip me over the edge. Mum's boyfriend just had to talk to me in that attitude and my hetrosexuality level nearly dropped to below zero. So what if I have 'Friends that are Boys' and occasionally like to get with them. From now on... I am not having a relationship with men.

I am so over it.

Back when I was 14 and lost my Virginity (by the way i have a major problem with that saying it is so not worth the hype). He didn't want to touch me afterwards... wow what a man he must of felt like. Yeah well in the time that he spent 'getting off' I could of made 2 min noodles, ate them and came back in time to Fake the orgasm. Oh and thankyou to Uncle Warren (not even related to me, except by marrige somewhere) who put his hand up my shirt when I was 3 and said 'ooohhh look whats up there'. Thankyou to that random man who tried to grab my non-existant boobs when i was 8 and at a family pup. Thanks to those boys who tormented me in primary school. The ones that told me to walk up and down in front of them so they couls jeer at me. And to the boys in high school... Some of you were ok. If you are reading this and don't know if it is directed to you well tough shit... I don't want to have to assure you of how fucking amazing you are, how you never did anything wrong.

And last of all but not least... Thank you Dad for showing me that Hetrosexual relationships are usually Domestically Violent. Thankyou for beating my sister because you know that you could never hit me because Mum would press charges. Thanks for turning my little brothers into assholes. Because I know that that is what they will become. Thankyou for giving me nightmares about hearing my Sister calling out 'Sowwy Daddy' over and over again. Thankyou for hitting me across the face when I was 7 saying you wont hurt me then doing it again.

So there you are folks... I am what I am... I am Gay.

An Indian woman who was raped has rejected a marriage proposal from the rapist, calling the idea "horrible".

She had been asked in court whether she would accept the proposal from her attacker who had hoped it might lower his sentence.

this fucks me off! as anyone who knows me will know that! not only that the rape victim is the one who suffers the social stigma of being raped, and is no longe considered as good as other women, when its not her damn fault! and second, that he thinks that marrying her will get him a lower sentence! and third, that he has no idea about the true value of rape or how awful it is that he thinks she might say yes! urgh. that makes me really sick but good for her! seriously, well done her, for saying no, for standing up to him, for taking him to court and not just hiding it!

This is what I'm outraged about.

There are an estimated 500 aboriginal women whom have gone missing over the past 30 years in Canada. No one seems to be looking for them.

This page highlights murders of native women in Canada, as well as the fact that so many of these murders or people gone missing remain unsolved. http://www.missingnativewomen.ca

(1) They're native and the decimation of that culture is sickening
(2) They're sex trade workers, drug addicts and seemingly labeled unworthy
(3) They're women

Most in Canada are now quite familiar with the case of serial killer Robert 'Willie' Pickton, who is currently charged with 15 counts of murder. DNA evidence of 25 bodies have thus far been found on his farm and they suspect many more have gone missing whose remains will never be found. They were fed to the pigs.

The saddest thing about the Pickton case is that the women still working the Eastside begged the police for YEARS to look into the Pickton pig farm, because they knew something was going on there. Nothing was done until a group of family members of several missing girls consistently petitioned the police to inquire into the rapidly increasing disappearances of these women.

62 women are missing from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside alone.

While reading through these pages, as I have others like them before, I feel first sadness at reading the pages upon pages of women’s stories, sometimes supplemented with pictures, all of these people with lives and people who loved them, under the headlines of “MURDERED” and “MISSING”. Too often underneath their stories is the tagline “UNSOLVED.” And these are only of the women reported missing.

And it continues: In the last few years, in Alberta – predominantley around the cities of Edmonton and Calgary – the bodies of more sex workers are being found. Many that no one ever knew were missing.

My sadness is soon replaced with rage.

It’s a type of gender-genocide that has continued throughout the ages and still exists today. And most people just look the other way.

The Vagina Monologues
I am re-posting from another community in the interest of supporting the cause:
zorah is not allowed to sell tickets to Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues on campus because 10% of all ticket sales are going toward CounterCrisis Northwest - her start-up abortion fund "for women who have experienced rape or domestic violence."

If you haven't read The Vagina Monologues, READ IT NOW. I can't put to words how wonderful it is - how moving, honest and enlightening the monologues throughout the book are. The Vagina Monologues are synonymous with helping women.

Anyway, there is a way you can help zorah, click here to find out how, and spread the word.

'teenager who escaped death but was left orphaned and homeless by the Asian tsunami met yet one more agony: gang rape, one of several cases of child abuse being investigated in the disaster zone, an official said Saturday.

Of all the human tragedies emerging from the worst natural disaster in decades, sexual abuse of vulnerable children in refugee camps must be among the most shocking.

But experts say it's not uncommon in times of conflict and trauma.'

fuck that. seriously. fuck that!
there isn't anything else i can say buit you have to be truly sick to rape a person anyway, but to rape one you know only just survived something this big and devastating is just so low its off the scale.

i just can't believe people think it is a result of conflict and trauma. to me it is just a sign that some men dont' care about anyone else! they are suffering, so to make themselves feel in control again, they have to hurt someone else!

i found this really upsetting. its about children being forced into marriage in euthophia. how the girls suffer, how in some parts it is customary to rape and kidnap the girl you want to marry. how the parents don't care less about what the children have to say (and i mean kids, they are 7 years old.) its disgusting, even worse that the church there supports this, as mary was meant to be married young. i can't believe that they think their children should marry and are old enough tobe a wife, yet not old enough to decide for tehmselves who they marry! this is about keeping girls in the home, for men to have their property and to protect against hiv, without any consideration of how the poor girls feel!

its really upsetting :(
